Our pastoral team are here to support students from when they begin with us in year 7 through to year 11.
No two days are the same in the pastoral office, just as no two students are the same. During the school day, we support students and their families with attendance, uniform, friendship issues, behaviour, welfare and take care of the general well-being of students.
The pastoral team work closely with staff and parents to help to resolve any difficulties a student may face in school. For more complex issues and where more specialist help may be required, we have a network of outside agencies to offer support. We also help to support students with transition in year 7 and year 9.
We operate an open-door policy so students can come and talk to us at any time for friendly help and advice.
Wellbeing Mentor - Sue Webster
Wellbeing is a at the heart of student support at Ibstock School. We recognise that many students often struggle in silence with social, emotional or mental health worries. Our Wellbeing Mentor offers dedicated 1:1 and targeted group sessions to meet the needs of our students. Students can self-refer and build in support to help them cope with anxieties.

The key message to all students having problems and difficulties, or simply looking for advice, is to let us know. We can only help and make a difference if we know there is a problem. Only then can we try to deal with it appropriately.
We appreciate discussing certain matters face-to-face with an adult can be tricky and uncomfortable so, if you feel you cannot talk directly to either your form tutor or pastoral manager, please CLICK HERE to send an email. This email is checked regularly by members of the pastoral team who will respond to you as soon as possible.
You can also use this service, if you would like to report any incidents of bullying, either to yourself or that you have witnessed around the college. Names are optional!
All incidents will be treated seriously and appropriate action will be taken.
If we don’t know, nothing can be done to help you and STOP it!
