Ibstock students are expected to wear full school uniform at all times during the school day, travelling to school and travelling home from school.
At Ibstock School we aim for the highest standards and believe that high standards of dress and a smartly worn school uniform are important for several reasons:
- It encourages students to ‘dress for success’ and to feel pride in being part of the Ibstock community.
- It reduces the scope for competitive dressing which can be a source of much unhappiness for children
- It is practical and relatively inexpensive
We also know that a firm school uniform policy is what most parents/carers want, and that they want us to enforce it consistently.

If you require financial support to purchase uniform please contact the school via email a.lindsey@ibstockcollege.co.uk each request will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
When wearing the Ibstock uniform, whether in school or out, students are representing the school and therefore are expected to wear it smartly and with pride. When wearing our uniform out of school students are also expected to maintain the highest standards of behaviour and politeness.
If you are unsure about an item of clothing, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Form Tutor, who will deal with your enquiry in the first instance.
We will endeavour to contact home whenever there is a problem with uniform.
The school strongly advises that mobile phones, mobile devices and other expensive items should not be brought onto site at all. Students have no legitimate need to use a mobile phone at all during the college day. If students choose to bring these items in then the college accepts no responsibility for any items that are lost or stolen.
SPRING term: Y7s will need shin pads for hockey and Y8 and Y9 boys will need a gum shield for rugby – students will not be able to take part in games and tackling activities without them.
During inclement weather the college reserves the right to adapt the policy to ensure the health and safety of the students.
