Dear Families of Year 11 Students,

With the February Pre-Public Exams complete and only 9 weeks to go until the GCSE exams begin, your child’s Spring Year 11 report is ready to view in the Arbor App under Report Cards.

It provides a range of information to support conversations with your child, which will be key to their preparation for the final exams.

The report on the Arbor App includes:

  • Attitude to learning – how your child is approaching their learning in terms of effort, organisation etc
  • Target grade – the minimum grade your child should be aiming for
  • Pre-Public Exam result (Trial)– the grade your child achieved in their PPE exam
  • Current Working at Grade (WAG) – the grade that your child is currently working at, considering class work, homework, the stage of the course etc
  • Likely Outcome Grade (LOG) – the grade that the teacher thinks your child is likely to achieve at the end of the course if they continue to work in the same way

Where a grade has a symbol next to it, they indicate:

4-The lower end of a grade 4; the student needs to work make the grade secure and avoid slipping to grade 3.
4Securely grade 4.
4+The higher end of a grade 4; with work, there is potential for the student to achieve a grade 5.

Definitions of the categories for Attitude to Learning can be found below.

If you have a query regarding your child’s report, please their subject teacher or form tutor. The PE team are currently moderating their trial exam assessment grades and will be in contact with Parents shortly.

Please continue to encourage your child to attend after school intervention and revise at home – it will make all the difference to their final grades.

Kind regards,

Sarah Nelson
