Dear parents /carers,

The School Aged Immunisation Service are changing the way we request consent for vaccinations.

The local school-aged immunisation service, or SAIS team, has been working with NHS England to improve how vaccinations are managed in schools.

As part of this work, the SAIS team will contact you directly to request consent for vaccinations instead of information being sent via your school’s communication platform.

This new approach will make it quicker and easier for you to give or refuse consent for vaccinations.

The SAIS team will request a class list from your child’s school containing your young person’s names, date of birth, and contact information such as phone numbers and emails addresses for parents / carers of young people who are eligible for the vaccinations. The SAIS team will then use these contact details to send consent requests and reminders directly to parents / carers.

There is more information about the role of the SAIS team in supporting vaccinations on GOV.UK.

Please be aware that all personal data will be securely stored in line with NHS guidelines. Only the SAIS team and NHS England will have access to your contact details.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact the SAIS team.
