Year 9 trip to Belgium

Day Two - Tuesday 11 October 2022

Today we left the accommodation at 8am for a very busy day exploring the Somme Battlefields. We drove into France to visit Vimy Ridge first. From there we went to the Musée Somme 1916 in Albert, and then to Lochnagar crater. We then went to Thiepval Memorial and Ulster Tower. Finally, due to the extremely busy day we are heading into Ypres for some free time before dinner back at the accommodation.

Day One - Monday 10 October 2022

Departed school at 4:40am, got an earlier tunnel at 12:20 and arrived in France at 13:55. We've been to visit Tyne cot - the largest Commonwealth Cemetery of WW1 - and are in our way to check into our hotel.

After dinner we are going to the chocolate shop and to take part in the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate 8pm
